5 days were remaining and we saw the notice board again and then there was a subject on the top right corner- "1-day ball game "- this gave us the shrills to the core. Then we read the entire banner and the school was announcing a one-day ball tournament. And every one of us looked at each other and I was looking at the banner and all the things that I worked on drawing, every move was going in my head, and then mom's promise. It was as if my hands were itching to touch the ball and play however, I knew right now if I went to play all the hard work and the effort that I put in was going to trash. Then I said, "let's go home. " Matt, who never tries to argue with anyone said, " Are you really going to walk away? " I saw him in his eyes and said, " Yes "( after a very long pause ).
That night I was going through emotion that was causing happiness and sadness at the same time. At the dinner table, dad caught me and said " why are you so dull tonight? ' I told him everything and then he told me, " Son, this is your first challenge, to become a Great Leader and set the example. He said to think about the long game.
I said, " What longer game? everyone is so angry at me now what every I am going to do tomorrow, apart from basketball they won't listen. "
Dad: Leadership is a lonely sport son. It is not about keeping people happy, it is about making tough decisions even if everyone is against it or doesn't like it. And currently, that is your exams.
The next day I went to the library, I opened my book and started doing my work and when everyone came they did the same until when 2 classmates said, " Why are you not playing ball? " I said, " Thank you, guys we have exams in 4 days. " and everyone was looking like they have been given the task of doing 100 pushups.
60 days for the league and 4 days for exams.
Life Lesson: Leadership is about taking the best decision even if no one likes it.
