In the meanwhile, Cole was still angry because of the morning discussion. After school, I came to the court, and took the notes, and placed them on the sideline. I started working on my flaws and it came to me that I was solving a puzzle and finding which piece goes where, however, I did not know how to convey it to the team. I tried to make them understand by mere speaking, it was not enough. So I took a moment, I remembered the tape, told everyone to come my home after refreshing. By 8:30 pm everyone come to the house, I switched on the computer, pulled out a piece of information we had, and started watching the game
- Austin - 26
- George- 24
- Stephen - 30
- Cole- 26
- Matt - 28
- Myself - 36
The next morning, we were fired and I was angry as hell when I made 17 air balls, Cole came in and for the first time I was the first to be in the gym and I was working on my shot. I wrote my notes in a manner of where I took the shots on the court and when I took them. I didn't run my sprints nor my drills I was just working on my notes. After school finished, I knew I had to follow a different approach. So I asked the team, " How can we play the games that we love in a better manner? " Cole said, " Leave us alone," I said, " I like your idea, can you tell more about it? " Team was looking, " what are you talking about? "
Cole said, " Let us work on ourselves for 1 hour and team practice for 2 hours in that way we know our strengths and weakness are, and we all can play too. "
I said, " Great, however, Cole there are players who need to sync into the team, understand the team game what our strength and weakness are " Cole was determined to work alone, however, I needed an insider the paint shooter, to be on the game. The day was coming to an end, so we started practicing, and we understood that we were lacking in defense. By the time of 5th possession of the first quarter, we were out of stamina. We used 3 of the 5-time outs in the first quarter.
Now, we have to increase our stamina and the defense was an open ground. I saw DayBallers hit 13 field goals in the first quarter. Since our defense went down, our offense also went down and we started giving away points with fouls. The coach came in, saw all the work we are doing, and went away. An hour later, we were going through the notes, the coach came in with the new gear. He gave the school jersey and told us only 69 days left for the league. And that was the end of the day, or so we thought. We were leaving the school and saw the notice of exams starts in 1 week. I was frustrated now, I was working so hard, to get into the league and all of a sudden exams!
And went home and mom was angry about me, not studying and only playing ball. After dinner I went to my dad, he said, " You are a leader, you have to show your team how to manage both exams and the game "
